We follow WDAA rules for Western Dressage, available at WesternDressageAssociation.org under Education Center. Exception is that helmets must be worn by all riders at all venues.
DLSC follows USEF rules for Dressage. These rules are available for download on the USEF.org website (see Rules and Regulations for link) for Dressage
ASTM helmets must be worn when mounted. No exceptions.
Accumulating Points for Year End Awards:
To be eligible for year-end awards, the same horse and rider combination must accumulate points at a minimum of four Dressage shows, competing at the same level. The highest score received in each level you show will be recorded by the DLSC show organizers. Highest score from your best 4 shows will be averaged for final percentage score. (If you show 5 shows we drop your lowest score).
Note: Rider/Horse combination that wins Year End Division Championship is ineligible to win that title the following year (though they may compete and place in the same division). Competitors in the Percentage, Western, or USEA Eventing divisions may be eligible consecutive years if they have moved up a level within that division (ie: showing 2nd level, Intro Western, or Beginner novice in one year, then moving up to 3rd level, Basic, or Novice the following could result in a pair winning a division championship 2 years in a row).
Class will be split at managements discretion.
Training and above will be split Jr. and Sr. if more than 10 entries.
Junior and Senior divisions will be combined if less than 6 entries per class.
If there are less than 6 entries per class in a level, the classes in that level may be combined at show managers discretion.
Percentage classes will be split by Test and/or Level as entries warrant.
Entries close 15 days prior to show date. Please send your entries early. Shows can only accommodate 60-70 rides per show.
Closing Date: Postmarked 15 days prior to show.
Awards: Ribbons first through sixth. Two High percentage awards will be given per show: to the rider with the best score from all Intro tests (USDF and WDAA), and to the rider with the best score from all the USDF Training and above, WDAA Basic and above tests, and all USEA tests.
