Sue Black Memorial Perpetual Trophy

In 2018, DLSC and the Dayton Equestrian Community lost an amazing woman.  Sue Black was one of the founders of DLSC and she will be greatly missed.

The DLSC Directors have created a Perpetual Trophy in Sue's memory.  The exact details of how the winner will be determined are still being worked out, but it will be a combination of attendance and performance at DLSC shows. This is a rider trophy and will not be limited to a horse/rider pair.

Rules & Details

  • Attendance at 4 DLSC shows of any kind is required.

  • Points will be accumulated based on placing within the class.  5 points for 1st place, 3 points for 2nd place, 2 points for 3rd place, and 1 point for 4th place. Placing 5th or lower will give 0 points but WILL count towards the attendance requirement.

  • Every class at any level with any horse at every show attended will count.

  • Points will be averaged by the number of classes competed in.  For example, placing 1st and 3rd at 2 shows in dressage and 2nd, 1st, and 4th at 2 hunter shows will result in a total of 16 gross points and 3.20 points for the award.

Like other year end awards, points towards the Sue Black Memorial Trophy will be automatically calculated.
